Rules for using furniture
The appearance and functionality of the furniture depends on the conditions in which it will be used for a certain period of time. In order to maintain the appearance and functionality of the furniture as long as possible and unchanged, it is necessary to follow the SOFAFORMA (also hereinafter – the seller or UAB “Ažuona”) furniture operation and maintenance rules:
- Furniture must be used according to its functional purpose. The buyer is responsible for the quality of furniture not used for its intended purpose.
- It is forbidden to use the furniture as a means of elevation or as a support and to climb on it.
- All furniture for sale is in original packaging. After unpacking the furniture, it is necessary to check whether all the necessary parts for its assembly are present. When unpacking and assembling the furniture, avoid items that could damage the product.
- The furniture must be assembled in the order and sequence specified in the instructions, avoiding careless movements.
- The protective film (if any) must be removed only after the furniture is fully assembled, as it protects the furniture from external damage during transportation and assembly.
- Given the fact that weather conditions and environmental effects directly affect the condition of furniture, its external appearance, quality and operational characteristics, and in order to avoid rapid aging of the painted surface, deformation of wooden elements, furniture should be protected from intense exposure to light, moisture and temperature. The furniture must be protected from long-term direct sunlight, as this can have a negative effect on the color of the product.
- It is forbidden to install the internal lighting source closer than 20 cm from the furniture details.
- A relative humidity of 40-70% should be ensured in the room where the furniture is used. Extremely high or extremely low relative humidity should be avoided, because over a certain period of time this can lead to deformation of the furniture elements (swelling, over-drying, delamination).
- Very high or very low temperatures, as well as large temperature contrasts, can significantly damage the furniture or its parts. The furniture is intended for storage and use only in residential areas where there are no sudden fluctuations in temperature and/or humidity. The furniture is not suitable for outdoor use. Furniture operating temperature +15°С – +25°С. Furniture parts cannot be closer than 1 year old. from a heat source (including heating devices). It is prohibited to contact furniture and other objects when their temperature is higher than 50°С.
- Furniture should be protected from: direct sunlight; direct exposure of steam to furniture surfaces; mechanical impact (impacts, scratches, etc.); exposure to liquids (moistened surfaces must be dried immediately); sudden temperature changes; high temperatures, e.g. do not place hot dishes directly on the surface of the worktop; open fire. Painted MDF (medium density fiberboard) and other furniture surfaces are particularly sensitive to mechanical effects.
- Laminated chipboard (LMDP) furniture is adversely affected by direct contact with water. When looking after furniture made of LMDP, the most important attention must be paid to the edges (edge) of the panel, as water entering through them can damage it.
- The use of chemically active substances (concentrated alkalis, acids, thinners, etc.) on the Furniture is prohibited. Even short-term exposure to such liquids can cause damage not only to furniture surfaces and mechanisms, but also to your health.
- For furniture maintenance, use only special cleaners intended for furniture maintenance.
- Dirt and moisture can only be removed from the furniture surface with a soft cloth (plush, flannel, etc.) or use special wipes for furniture care. Do not use rags and cloth with abrasive particles, as this can damage the paint and laminate.
- To remove dry dirt, carefully wipe the furniture with a dry cloth or a soft bristle brush.
- Furniture can only be cleaned with circular movements, without pressing the cloth hard. Strong rubbing can damage the furniture.
- If the furniture is wet, it is forbidden to dry it with a hair dryer.
- It is forbidden to store uncleaned dirt of any origin from the surface of the furniture.
- Easy-to-remove stains can only be cleaned with a clean cloth moistened with water, and the moistened surface should be thoroughly wiped with a clean, dry cloth. Tools for cleaning furniture are used only with the responsibility of the user of the furniture, after testing the tool in an inconspicuous place.
- Metal surfaces can only be cleaned with special cleaning agents that do not contain solid particles and bleaching properties.
- Clean chrome or stainless steel surfaces only with special cleaning products designed for this purpose. Long-term storage of furniture metal finishes or individual mechanisms and accessories in a humid environment can cause corrosion.
- It is necessary to protect the furniture from mechanical damage, do not use sharp objects to clean the furniture.
- Surface damage or scratches may occur on certain surfaces during household use.
- Do not move the furniture. Moving the furniture will prevent possible damage to the floor. The furniture legs can scratch the floor surface when moving.
